Egyptian archaeologist Maysoon (Sabrina Amali) lives in Berlin with her partner Tobi (Florian Stetter) and their two children when her past catches up with her: politically active before the Arab Spring, returning to Egypt could cost her her freedom. As she fears losing her existence,, her family, and her sense of control, Maysoon begins a battle – against Tobi, against the system, and against herself.

Caught between bureaucracy, a broken relationship, and the question of who her children truly belong to, a story gradually unfolds – one of guilt and self-assertion.

Maysoon is a multilayered drama about a woman in a state of emergency – and the radical nature of love.
