Nancy Biniadaki is an award-winning writer and director, born in Athens and based in Berlin. She is a dynamic storyteller whose work spans film, theatre, and video art, with a focus on blending cultural and artistic narratives.

Biniadaki’s latest feature film, MAYSOON (2024), a German-Greek co-production, premiered in 2025 and received international acclaim, including at Oldenburg and Thessaloniki International Film Festivals. It was released in German cinemas in March 2026. Her debut feature, THE SURFACE OF THINGS (2017), premiered in the International Competition at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival. For this, she received the Best Greek Newcomer Director Award at the Athens International Film Festival.

Her earlier works include several acclaimed short films, such as THE MOON AND I (2015), a commission for ZDF/KiKa, which earned her the prestigious Grimme Preis and was a finalist at the Prix Jeunesse International. Her fiction short STILL COUNTING (1998), was awarded the Melina Merkouri Greek State Award and selected for the Biennale of Young Artists in Rome.

Biniadaki has also directed numerous documentaries for Greek National Television (ERT), including the celebrated series PARASKINIO (1996–2006). She was a member of the creative team behind the Closing Ceremony of the 2004 Athens Olympic Games.

Her contributions to theatre include directing and dramaturgy for the Athens and Epidaurus Festival, the Greek National Theatre, the Athens Concert Hall Megaron and off-stages in Athens and Berlin. She has also created video projections for opera and theatre productions in Greece and Italy.

Biniadaki studied Classical Literature at the University of Athens, Cinema Directing at Stavrakos Film School in Athens, and received an MA in Directing and Scriptwriting from Sheffield Hallam University, funded by an Onassis Foundation scholarship.
